You should have received a detailed e-mail with information about the dinner, including:
- TIME & INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN: Cocktail hour is planned for 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the lawn of the historic Mount Vernon farmhouse (circa 1827) on Turkey Mountain under the shade of old trees. Dinner will begin around 6:30 p.m. on a knoll a short walk from the house with a breathtaking view of the village of Sperryville and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Should weather cooperate, dinner will be en plein air. We will be looking at the weather forecast most anxiously and have set-up a tent, should we need it. Additionally, we also have an antique restored barn ready to house the dinner should a tent be insufficient. So, yes, there is a rain plan!
- DRESS CODE: Please dress comfortably and wear sensible shoes. Feel free to come dressed to a "T", if you wish... or wear business casual, if you prefer. Do remember, dinner will take place in the pasture! And although the field has been mowed and cows moved away over two months ago, it is a field. As usual, when out of doors, avoid wearing perfume and cologne. Ladies may wish to wear hats. And for those sensitive to insects, by all means, wear insect repellent and follow the usual precautions you take when going outdoors. | | | | | | | | | Saturday, June 20, 2009 Cocktails at 5:30, Dinner at 6:30 p.m. $180 per Guest; Seating is Limited | | | Hosted by Mount Vernon Farm 206 Mount Vernon Lane, Off Route 211 in Sperryville www.mountvernonfarm.net | | | Beneficiary of net proceeds will be the Rappahannock County Farmland Preservation Fund - dedicated to preserving the County’s agricultural way of life and promoting its farms, orchards and wineries. | | | |
